Piotr Palys, Jan Skala's contacts with Southern Slavs

Jan Skala's first contact with Southern Slavs took place during his military service during the Second World War. In 1924 he served a month long internship in editorial offices in Belgrad. In 1929, as an editor in chief of "Kulturwile" and "Kulturwehr", he cooperated with Yugoslavian journalists. In this year he revisited Yugoslavia where he gave a series of lectures on the Sorbian issue. After Skala's arrest by German authorities, Yugoslavian supporters of the Sorbs tried to mobilize international public opinion to protest against this detention. The article summarises the knowledge about Ja Skala's contacts with Southern Slavs' representatives. It is based mainly on previous findings of Leszek Kuberski and Tone Galavan.
