Tomasz Derlatka, About the publishing initiatives of the Institute for Sorbian Studies in Leipzig.

The article presents the publishing initiatives of the Institute for Sorbian Studies of Leipzig University. The activity can be described as fairly poor. During an almost 60 years of Institute’s history (it was established in 1951) the research projects have only been conducted in 21st century. Apart from one printed journal, issued in years 2000 – 2004 by the students of Sorbian Studies (Sorapis), other publications were issued only as the Internet versions: scientific journal Sor@pis (since 2007) and a periodical in which student’s thesis that has been written since the opening of the University up to the present day, are being archived and made accessible for the public - Acta Sorabica Lipsiensia (since 2009). The present Institute’s poor activity in the field of scientific publishing does not address the Sorbian publishing traditions which in Leipzig can be traced back to the year 1766 (Lipske nowiny a wšitkizny).
